Thats what I am thinking, I cannot further remove the card from my account, because it is not there, yet it can still be charged and it raises legal flags for me immediately. Granted, I’m not going to take things to court myself over $5 that I’m still happy to pay and get use out of, but I would definitely be interested to see this develop into a class action case.

This smells like a programming mistake to me. It says “your credit card on file”, well, it was deleted, it shouldn’t be “on file”. Developers have a (sometimes overzealous) aversion to deleting anything, this sometimes causes mistakes because in code you have to specify `all active credit cards` instead of `all credit cards`.

Unfortunately, if you write to support it will rarely escalate to the development team. Plus, this is just speculation because doing that sounds outlandish to me. I don’t know if employees peruse this subreddit but if so, please forward this to QA.

Reach out through the contact info on the page in the store. (play store/apple store)

Ah yes! This is a very good idea for the OP. If it is indeed a bug as I suspect, you could get a nice coupon code or swagger. Dev teams are appreciative of this kind of feedback from end-users.

Ya, Amazon prime does it too. Just dealt with this on Amazon last week when they charged my other card.

Just to clarify, you did something similar to this:

  1. Added a new card.
  2. Deleted the existing card.
  3. New card couldn’t be charged
  4. Amazon charged you on your deleted card.

This is what OP went through, I just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing on Amazon.
