Why do some women get so angry over small things?
r/socialskillsu/visionaryshmisionary:
For context: I’m 55 and AuDHD. I’ve never fit in what we would call the “mainstream” but I do have some ability to understand social cues, I’m just a little dorky sometimes.
This may or may not explain why some women seem to get IRRATIONALLY ANGRY or reactive with others, about seemingly the smallest of things.
A few examples:
- I’m in a motel lobby waiting for service. I noticed the view out of the window was really nice so I started taking a few photos. A couple of middle aged ladies came in behind me and started chatting. They were exactly in back of me so I had no idea how close they were to me because I couldn’t see them. I take half a step back and run into one of them by accident. I turn around and say “excuse me.” I didn’t catch it, but my husband says they were looking at me with absolute hatred. […]
You are possibly missing the cue that they are expecting you to apologise. “Sorry, I didn’t see you”, would have defused scenarios 1 and 2 immediately. Whether they are apology worthy is another matter, from their side of experience you bumped into them and nobody (not me, not you, not anyone) takes a moment to consider why it happened.
