Reminds me when I was at Taco Bell with my friend. She walked up to the counter and asked for a chicken ka-sell-da. The cashier looked at her with a blank face and asked her to repeat that.

“Kasellda”

Another blank stare. My friend pointed at the picture, saying again “Kasellda”. The cashier laughed and said “That’s a quesadilla.”

I’m from Mexico, but I don’t look like it. So the first time I went to a Mexican fast food place and I asked for a “ke-sa-dee-ya” the attendant corrected me with “ke-sa-di-la”. I just said “thanks, I didn’t know it was pronounced like that here”.
