This is a weird thing to say, and I’m not quite sure how to phrase it, but I cannot tell you how overjoyed I am to hear that you’re gay. I don’t mean to put words in your mouth, but it feels like it lessens the tragedy quite a lot to know that you still have the capability for enjoyable sex.

EDIT: I did not mean to imply that by being gay he must necessarily enjoy anal sex, or that it if he were straight would be impossible to be intimate with a woman. Simply that gay men are, by necessity, forced to be a little more creative and flexible about such things, whereas it’s probably more likely that a typical straight woman would have a tough time with the lack of penis. Not everyone is as sexually open-minded as they would have to be to make it work.

Let’s not idealize the situation. We’ve all had our chances to score with members both sexes, and—given that sexuality is somewhat fluid—you are more likely to explore your homosexual side if you don’t have a penis.
