my parents were both immigrants who worked in the fields here in the u.s. i was partly raised in mexico. i have never known of any mexicans or mexican-americans who make burritos at home. let alone on such a regular basis that that’s what everybody’s having for lunch that day.
I’m from Puebla (central Mexico), and I don’t recall even tasting a burrito until I went to live to Puerto Vallarta. I’d say burritos are more popular in the US and Canada than they are in Mexico.
