It seems like I’ll likely end up taking a month’s worth of pills in the Rx bottle in my luggage and hoping the worst case scenario is just “We’ll have to throw these away, sorry”.

There are no amphetamine based drugs in Mexico (long story), you’ll likely be prescribed Ritalin instead.
